Eegee's is a popular chain of restaurants. You can find them mostly in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. They are famous for their delicious subs and a special frozen fruit drink called the "eegee."
The restaurant chain is also known for its unique ranch dressing. This dressing comes in several different flavors. In 2022, chicken tenders were added to the menu. Eegee's was founded in 1971 by Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg. They combined their first initials, "E" from Edmund and "G" from Greenberg, to create the name. The company is also involved in helping the community. They support local charities and have a recycling program called 'Green for Green!'. They also have a program to train and employ people with disabilities.
The Story of Eegee's
In 1971, two friends, Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg, started their business. They bought a used vending truck. At first, Ed or Bob would sell their famous lemon eegee's frozen drink. They sold it outside high schools, at sports games, and at concerts.
Over the years, their business grew. The vending trucks were eventually retired. Eegee's became a successful restaurant chain in Southern Arizona. Today, there are 26 locations in Tucson. You can also find 5 locations in Phoenix. There is one location in Green Valley and one in Casa Grande.
