Eegee's (stylized eegee's) is a popular chain of restaurants. It has 30 locations in the Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona areas, plus one in Casa Grande. Eegee's is famous for its delicious submarine sandwiches and its special frozen fruit drink called the "eegee." They are also known for their unique ranch dressing, which comes in different flavors. In 2022, chicken tenders were added to the menu.
The company was started in 1971 by Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg. They combined the first letter of their names, "E" from Edmund and "G" from Greenberg, to create the name "eegee's." Eegee's is also known for helping the community. They support local charities, have a recycling program called "Green for Green!", and help train and employ people with disabilities.
The Story of Eegee's
In 1971, Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg decided to start a business together. They bought a used vending truck. At first, Ed or Bob would sell their frozen lemon eegee's drink. They sold it outside high schools, at sports games, and at concerts.
Over time, their business grew. They stopped using the vending trucks and opened more and more restaurants in Southern Arizona. Today, there are 21 eegee's locations in Tucson. There are also four locations in Phoenix, and one each in Green Valley and Casa Grande.
Eegee's Flavor of the Month
Some eegee's flavors are always available, like Lemon, Strawberry, Pina Colada, Mango, and Skinny Berry. But eegee's also has a special "Flavor of the Month" that changes every month! Sometimes, they even release extra limited-time flavors.
