Her Early Life
Eileen Crowe was born Alice Izabella Crowe. She was born on Carlingford Terrace in Drumcondra, Dublin. Her parents were Moses Crowe and Therese Eglinton. Eileen was one of ten children in her family. Her father was a grocer.
Eileen's Acting Career
Eileen Crowe started her acting journey at the Abbey School of Acting. She made her first stage appearance in 1921. This was in a play called The Revolutionist. She played the main character, Nora Mangan.
She worked at the Abbey Theatre from 1921 until 1970. During this time, she acted in many plays. Some of her notable roles included The Marriage of Columbine (1921) and Juno and the Paycock (1924). She also toured Northern Ireland and England for six months with the play Peg O' My Heart.
Eileen Crowe also acted in films. Her first film was The Land of her Fathers in 1925. She continued to make movies until 1964. Her last film role was in Girl with Green Eyes.

Later Years and Passing
Eileen Crowe played her last role as Miss Hatty in the play Grogan and the Ferret. After this, she retired from acting.
She passed away on May 8, 1978, at the age of 79. Eileen Crowe was buried next to her husband in the Deansgrange Cemetery in Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland. She is remembered as a dedicated actress and a devoted wife.
