Eisuke Nakanishi (中西 永輔, Nakanishi Eisuke, born June 23, 1973) is a former professional footballer from Japan. He was born on June 23, 1973. Eisuke Nakanishi played as a defender for various clubs. He also proudly represented the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Early Career and JEF United

Eisuke Nakanishi was born in Suzuka, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined the football club JEF United Ichihara in 1992. He mostly played as a defender. However, in the mid-1990s, he also showed his skills as a midfielder and even a forward.

During his time with JEF United Ichihara, the team had some great moments. They finished second in the 1998 J.League Cup. They also placed third in the J1 League in both 2001 and 2003.

Moving to Yokohama F. Marinos

In 2004, Nakanishi moved to another club, Yokohama F. Marinos. This was a very successful move for him and the team. In 2004, Yokohama F. Marinos became champions of the J1 League. Eisuke Nakanishi played his last professional game at the end of the 2006 season, when he retired from football.

Playing for Japan

Joining the National Team

Eisuke Nakanishi was chosen to play for the Japan national team in September 1997. This was for the qualification games for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He made his first appearance for Japan on September 7, 1997, in a game against Uzbekistan.

World Cup Experience

Nakanishi was part of the Japan squad that went to the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. He played in the first two matches of the tournament. He played alongside other famous defenders like Masami Ihara and Yutaka Akita. He played a total of 14 matches for Japan until 2002.
