Where is El Bongo Located?
El Bongo is situated in the western part of Panama. It's specifically within the Bugaba District. This district is part of the larger Chiriquí Province. Chiriquí is known for its beautiful landscapes and agricultural areas.

How El Bongo Became Official
El Bongo officially became a corregimiento on March 7, 1997. This was made possible by a special law, Law 10. Later, other laws, Law 5 (January 19, 1998) and Law 69 (October 28, 1998), helped to further define and support its status. These laws are important because they establish how local areas are governed in Panama.
