El Colegio (pronounced "el co-LE-ho") is a town and a local government area called a municipality in Colombia. It is located in the Cundinamarca Department. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and pleasant weather.
El Colegio is about 990 meters (around 3,248 feet) above sea level. In 2018, about 23,886 people lived there. It's a place where many people enjoy the natural surroundings.
Climate and Weather
El Colegio has a warm and mild climate, which means it's usually pleasant all year round. The temperature doesn't change much between seasons. This is because it's located close to the Equator.
The town experiences two main types of weather. In the lower parts, it's generally hotter, with average temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees Fahrenheit). The higher parts are a bit cooler, with averages around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).
There are also wet and dry periods throughout the year. Some months, like April and October, receive more rain. Other months, like July and August, are usually drier. This mix of sun and rain helps the local plants and crops grow well.
