El Corpus is a town, also called a municipality, located in Honduras. It is part of the Choluteca region.

History of El Corpus
El Corpus was first started by the Spanish in 1585. It was founded near a mine called Clavo Rico. Later, on July 27, 1827, El Corpus officially became its own municipality, which means it became a self-governing town.
Life in El Corpus
Many people in El Corpus work in agriculture, which means they are involved in farming. In 2013, about 75% of the people worked in this field.
When it comes to daily life, about 34% of homes get their water from private systems. For lighting, 46% of homes use oil lamps. Also, 95% of people use firewood for cooking.
Most adults in El Corpus have a basic education. About 62% have finished a basic level of schooling. Only a small number of homes, about 5%, own at least one car.
