El Llano is a small town in the Dominican Republic. Its name means The Plain in English. It is located in the Elías Piña province, which is a region in the country.

People Living in El Llano
In 2002, about 8,151 people lived in El Llano. This included 4,376 men and 3,775 women. About 30% of these people lived in the main town area. The rest lived in the countryside around it.
A Look at El Llano's History
El Llano became its own official town, called a municipality, on July 2, 1974. Before that year, it was part of a nearby town called Comendador. Becoming a municipality meant it could manage its own local government.
