El Palmar de Troya is a small town in southwestern Spain. It is located in the province of Seville, which is part of the Andalusia region. In 2018, it became its own town, separate from Utrera. About 2,340 people live there.

The Story of El Palmar de Troya

El Palmar de Troya has a long history. Records show it existed during Roman times and in the 1200s. The town grew more recently. Many families moved here after a big conflict in Spain. They helped build the Torre del Águila reservoir.

For a long time, El Palmar de Troya was part of a larger town called Utrera. But in 2018, something exciting happened! On October 3, 2018, El Palmar de Troya officially became its own independent town. This means it now has its own local government.

A Unique Religious Community

El Palmar de Troya is well-known because it is home to the Palmarian Christian Church. This is a special religious group that started here. It was founded by Clemente Domínguez y Gómez.

This church began in the 1960s. People reported seeing visions of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ in this area. The Palmarian Christian Church has its main building, called the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Crowned Mother of Palmar, right in El Palmar de Troya.
