El Porvenir means The Future in Spanish. It is a small town in Honduras. It is also a larger area called a municipality. In 2013, the town of El Porvenir had about 5,202 people. The biggest town in the municipality is El Pino, with about 6,304 people in 2013. By 2020, the whole municipality was estimated to have over 26,000 people.

Where is El Porvenir?
El Porvenir is located in the Atlántida department of Honduras. It shares borders with other places like La Ceiba and San Francisco. It also borders Arenal in the Yoro department.
Villages and Coastline
The municipality includes smaller villages such as El Pino and La Unión. A large part of El Porvenir is right along the coast. The beach here is very popular. Many local people and visitors enjoy the beach, especially during a holiday called Semana Santa.
Pineapple Fields
Most of the land around El Porvenir is covered with fields of pineapples. This means that growing pineapples is an important activity in the area.

People in El Porvenir use different ways to travel.
Local Transport
You can find both buses and small vehicles called mototaxies. Mototaxies are like small taxis on three wheels. They are used for short trips within the town. Buses travel to nearby cities like La Ceiba or to the village of La Unión. They do not come very often. Regular taxis are not commonly seen here.
Main Highway
The main highway, called CA-13, passes by El Porvenir. This road connects the town to other cities nearby. It also links to the Golosón International Airport. This airport helps people travel to and from the region.
