El Rosario (Spanish for 'The Rosary') is a small town in San Quintín Municipality, Baja California, Mexico. It's located right on the Pacific Ocean coast. In 2010, about 1,704 people lived there.

Where is El Rosario?
El Rosario is a small town on the western coast of the state of Baja California. You can find it along Highway 1. It's about 61 kilometers (38 miles) south of San Quintín. It's also 119 kilometers (74 miles) north of Cataviña.
What is the Economy Like?
For a long time, the people of El Rosario have mostly worked in fishing and farming. Their main crop is onions. They also grow other foods like chilies, alfalfa, potatoes, and beans.
There are several places nearby where people go fishing. These include Punta Baja and Isla San Jerónimo. You can also find Bocana Beach (which means The Mouth in Spanish) about 5 miles west of town.
Fun Things to Do in El Rosario
El Rosario is located on Mexican Federal Highway 1, which is a popular road. It's also a stop for the exciting Baja 1000 racing event. In town, you can find different kinds of stores. There are mini-markets, meat markets, and traditional markets.
Many people who enjoy watching birds visit El Rosario. This is because many different bird species fly through the area. A special type of shrub called Aplopappus vernicosus grows almost only in this town.
Just outside of El Rosario, about 13 miles south, is a place called Las Pintas. Here, you can see ancient rock carvings known as petroglyphs. These carvings are over 2,000 years old! There is also a petrified forest nearby.
