El Zulia (pronounced el SOO-lya) is a town and a municipality in Colombia. It is located in the Norte de Santander Department. A municipality is like a local government area, similar to a county or district. Part of El Zulia is also connected to the Metropolitan Area of Cúcuta. This means it's part of a larger group of towns and cities around Cúcuta.
In 2018, about 26,019 people lived in El Zulia. It's a place with its own unique climate and features.

El Zulia has a warm climate all year round. It's usually quite hot during the day, with average high temperatures often above 32°C (90°F). Even at night, the temperatures stay warm, typically around 21-23°C (70-73°F).
Rainfall and Sunny Days
El Zulia experiences a good amount of rain throughout the year. The wettest months are usually October and November, when there can be over 270 mm (10 inches) of rain. Even in the drier months like June, there's still some rainfall.
Despite the rain, El Zulia also gets a fair bit of sunshine. Some months, like July and August, can have over 200 hours of sunshine. This means there are many clear days to enjoy.
