Elizabeth Gyring facts for kids
Elizabeth Gyring (born in 1886, died in 1970) was a talented American composer. She was born in Vienna, Austria. Her father, Leopold Rethy, was a doctor who specialized in throats.
Elizabeth studied music at the Vienna Academy of Music. She learned from famous teachers like Joseph Marx and Ludwig Gzaczkes. Her early musical pieces were very successful in cities like Berlin and Vienna.
She married Otto Geiringer. In 1939, they moved to the United States. Elizabeth Gyring became an American citizen. She passed away in New York City in 1970. Her important papers and musical works are kept at Washington State University.
