Elizabeth Tudor (born 2 July 1492 – died 14 September 1495) was a princess of England. She was the second daughter and fourth child of King Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York.
Early Life of Princess Elizabeth
Elizabeth was born on 2 July 1492 at Sheen Palace in Surrey, England. Her father, King Henry VII, later rebuilt this palace and named it Richmond Palace. Today, parts of Richmond Palace are in London. Elizabeth had a special nurse, Cecily Burbage, who cared for her.
The Death of Princess Elizabeth
Princess Elizabeth died at Eltham Palace in Kent on 14 September 1495. She was only three years old.
Her tomb is in Westminster Abbey, a very famous church in London. The tomb is made from special stones called Purbeck and black marble. There was once a shiny black stone on top with a copper statue of Elizabeth, but these have disappeared over time.
Elizabeth's parents, King Henry VII and Queen Elizabeth, had more children after her. In 1496, they had another daughter named Mary, who later became the Queen of France. Two more of their children, Edmund and Katherine, also died very young. They were buried next to young Elizabeth in Westminster Abbey.
