Elizabethtown is a small community in Ohio, United States. It is located in Hamilton County and is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area defined by the government for counting people, but it's not an official city or town. In 2020, about 323 people lived there.

History of Elizabethtown

Elizabethtown was officially started in 1817. A man named Isaac Mills planned out the community. He named it after his wife, Elizabeth.

Long ago, Elizabethtown was an important stop on a railway line. This railway was called the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway. In 1894, the community had three stores, two churches, and a place to store grain.

Geography and Location

Elizabethtown is found in the valley of the Great Miami River. This river is a big part of the area's natural beauty. The community is about 20 miles (32 km) west of downtown Cincinnati.

A main road, U.S. Route 50, goes right through the middle of Elizabethtown. Another big highway, Interstate 275, passes by to the northwest. However, this highway does not have a direct exit into Elizabethtown.

The area of Elizabethtown is about 0.9 square miles (2.3 square kilometers). Almost all of this area is land.

People of Elizabethtown

In 2020, 323 people lived in Elizabethtown. This means there were about 363 people for every square mile. There were 143 homes in the community.
