Elliot Arthur McAdam (1951 – 5 August 2024) was an Australian politician. He was a member of the Labor Party. He represented the area of Barkly in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly. This is like the local parliament for the Northern Territory. He served there from 2001 to 2008.

Early Life and Work
Before he became a politician, Elliot McAdam was the general manager of the Julalikari Aboriginal Council. This council works to support Aboriginal communities. As general manager, he helped manage important services and projects for these communities.
Time in Parliament
Elliot McAdam was first chosen to be a politician in 2001. People in the Barkly area voted for him. He was re-elected, meaning chosen again, in 2005.
Becoming a Minister
After being re-elected in 2005, Elliot McAdam was given a special job. He became a Minister. A Minister is like a leader in charge of a specific area of government. He was the Minister for Local Government and Housing. This meant he helped make decisions about local councils and homes for people.
In 2006, his responsibilities grew. He also became in charge of Central Australia, and services related to computers and communication. He stopped being a Minister in 2008. This happened after a plan he had for local councils was changed by the government. He then decided to retire from politics that same year.
After Politics
Even after retiring, Elliot McAdam still cared about his community. In 2016, he tried to become a politician again for Barkly. This time, he ran as an independent, not with a political party. Elliot McAdam passed away on 5 August 2024. He was 72 years old.
