Elyas M'Barek (German: [eˈliːas əmˈbaːʁɛk]; born on May 29, 1982) is an Austrian actor. He lives and works in Germany. He became well-known for his roles in the comedy TV series Türkisch für Anfänger and the popular 2013 comedy film Fack ju Göhte.

Early Life

Elyas M'Barek was born in Munich, Germany. His mother is Austrian and his father is Tunisian. Elyas has a younger brother named Joseph, who is also an actor. Elyas finished school when he was 22 years old.

Career Highlights

Elyas M'Barek is famous for playing Cem Öztürk in the TV show Türkisch für Anfänger (which means Turkish for Beginners). In this show, he played a young Turkish character. He also worked with Arnel Taci, who played his best friend in Türkisch für Anfänger, on another TV series called "Abschnitt 40".

In 2008, Elyas appeared in the drama film Die Welle. He played a student named Sinan. This film was about a school experiment that showed how easy it is for people to follow a leader, even if it leads to bad things like fascism.

Later, in 2012, he acted in the drama film Heiter bis Wolkig. He also played a main role in the movie version of Turkish for Beginners [de]. In 2013, he even played a vampire in the fantasy movie The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

His biggest success came in 2013 with the movie Fack ju Göhte. This film was a huge hit in Germany. Over three million people watched it in just 17 days! It became the most successful German film of that year. In the same year, he had a smaller role in the adventure film The Physician, which also did very well at the box office. He also lent his voice to the character Art in the German version of the animated movie Monsters University.
