Emma Sillett was a talented British artist who lived a long time ago, from 1802 to 1880. She was famous for her beautiful paintings of flowers.
Biography
Emma Sillett grew up in a city called Norwich in England. She was one of two children in her family who lived to be adults. Her parents were Ann Banyard and a painter named James Sillett.
Emma learned how to paint from her father, James. As she got older, she even helped him teach art to others! She painted in a style very much like his.
Emma became a very skilled flower painter all by herself. Between 1813 and 1833, she showed about 48 of her paintings at the Norwich Society of Artists. This was a group where artists could display their work.
Emma and her brother lived together in Norfolk, which is a county in England. She passed away there in 1880. Today, you can see examples of her paintings at the Norwich Museum and Art Gallery.
