Mayuka's Football Journey

Emmanuel Mayuka started playing football at a young age. He was born in Kabwe, Central Province, Zambia. He joined the Lusaka Academy when he was just 11 years old to learn and improve his football skills.

Starting in Zambia

In 2007, Mayuka joined Kabwe Warriors. This is one of the biggest football clubs in Zambia. He played very well for them, scoring 15 goals in 23 games. Because of his great performance, he was chosen to play for the Zambia under-17 national team.

Playing in Israel and Switzerland

In September 2008, Emmanuel Mayuka moved to Israel to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He first joined their youth team and scored three goals. In April 2010, he signed a new contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv that would keep him there until 2014.

On May 28, 2010, Mayuka signed a five-year contract with a Swiss club called BSC Young Boys. He moved there for about £1.7 million. He was brought in to replace another player, Seydou Doumbia. Mayuka scored two goals in a Europa League match against Stuttgart in December 2010. He also scored an important last-minute goal against FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in another Europa League game in February 2011, helping his team win 2–1.
