Emmanuel Mayuka is a professional football player from Zambia. He was born on November 21, 1990. Emmanuel plays as a striker, which means he is a forward player whose main job is to score goals. He currently plays for NAPSA Stars and also for the Zambia national team. A big moment in his career was being the top scorer in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Mayuka's Football Journey
Emmanuel Mayuka started playing football at a young age. He was born in Kabwe, Central Province, Zambia. He joined the Lusaka Academy when he was just 11 years old to learn and improve his football skills.
Starting in Zambia
In 2007, Mayuka joined Kabwe Warriors. This is one of the biggest football clubs in Zambia. He played very well for them, scoring 15 goals in 23 games. Because of his great performance, he was chosen to play for the Zambia under-17 national team.
Playing in Israel and Switzerland
In September 2008, Emmanuel Mayuka moved to Israel to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv. He first joined their youth team and scored three goals. In April 2010, he signed a new contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv that would keep him there until 2014.
On May 28, 2010, Mayuka signed a five-year contract with a Swiss club called BSC Young Boys. He moved there for about £1.7 million. He was brought in to replace another player, Seydou Doumbia. Mayuka scored two goals in a Europa League match against Stuttgart in December 2010. He also scored an important last-minute goal against FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in another Europa League game in February 2011, helping his team win 2–1.
Time in England and France
On August 28, 2012, Mayuka joined Premier League team Southampton in England. He signed a five-year deal. He made his first appearance for Southampton on September 2, 2012, as a substitute against Manchester United. He also helped his team win against Aston Villa by winning a penalty.
His only goal for Southampton came in a League Cup game on August 27, 2013. They won that match 5–1 against Barnsley.
On September 2, 2013, Mayuka went on loan to Ligue 1 team Sochaux in France for a season. By July 2015, Southampton's manager said that Mayuka would not be part of the team's future plans. He had not scored any goals in his 16 league games for Southampton.
Moving to Egypt and Back Home
On August 31, 2015, Mayuka joined French club FC Metz in Ligue 2, signing a three-year contract.
Then, on January 15, 2016, he moved to Egypt to play for Zamalek. He signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with them.
Later, on November 9, 2017, Mayuka returned to Israel and joined Hapoel Ra'anana.
In April 2019, Mayuka came back to Zambia and joined Green Buffaloes.
Most recently, in February 2020, Emmanuel Mayuka joined NAPSA Stars, where he plays today.
Playing for Zambia
Emmanuel Mayuka has also had a very important career playing for his home country, Zambia.
Young Talent on the World Stage
Mayuka was part of Zambia's under-20 national team in 2007. He was the youngest player on the team at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Even though he didn't score in that tournament, many football experts thought he played a big part in one of Zambia's best youth teams ever. He was a starting player in all their group games and in the match against Nigeria.
Winning the Africa Cup of Nations
Mayuka made his debut for the senior team in the 2007 COSAFA Cup. He scored his first goal for Zambia in a 3–0 win against Mozambique.
He scored Zambia's first goal in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. Zambia went on to win that game against Senegal. In the same tournament, he scored against Libya. Then, he scored the winning goal in a famous 1–0 victory over Ghana in the semifinals. This goal helped Zambia reach the finals. He played all 120 minutes in the final match against Ivory Coast. Zambia won the tournament in a penalty shootout, which was a huge achievement for the country! Mayuka was also the top scorer of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
