Emmett, Ohio facts for kids
Emmett is a small place in Paulding County, Ohio, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
History of Emmett
Emmett had a post office that opened in 1858. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office closed down in 1905.
Around that time, a railroad was built. When the railroad came through, many businesses decided to move closer to the tracks in a nearby town called Paulding. This made Paulding a busier place. Because businesses left Emmett, fewer people lived there, and the community became much smaller.
