En Patufet was a super popular magazine for kids, written in Catalan. It was published in Barcelona (Spain) for many years, from 1904 to 1938. Later, it came back for a few years between 1968 and 1973, but this time it was just called Patufet.
This magazine was so well-known that people even started using the word patufet to mean any children's magazine with pictures, kind of like how we use the word comics today! It was the most widely read Catalan weekly magazine, reaching about 65,000 copies every week and read by a huge 325,000 people! The famous character Patufet on the magazine's cover was first drawn by an artist named Antonio Montañola.
