A Look Back: Enochsburg's History
Enochsburg was first planned out in 1836. When a place is "platted," it means someone drew up a map for how the streets and lots would be laid out. This community was named after its founder, a person named Enoch Abrahams.
A post office opened in Enochsburg in 1837. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1906.
