Enrique Mendoza D'Ascoli (born August 11, 1945 – died April 3, 2023) was an important Venezuelan politician. A politician is someone who works in government. They help make decisions for a country or region.
Mendoza served as the mayor of Sucre Municipality, Miranda. This area is part of the big city of Caracas. He was mayor from 1989 to 1996.
Later, he became the governor of Miranda state. A governor is like the leader of a state or region. He held this job from 1995 to 2004. People liked his work, so they re-elected him twice, in 1998 and 2000.
In 2004, Enrique Mendoza was chosen to lead a group called the Coordinadora Democrática. This group worked to support democracy in Venezuela.
Enrique Mendoza passed away on April 3, 2023. He was 77 years old. He died from a serious illness called leukaemia.
