Eric Haydock (born Eric John Haddock; 3 February 1943 – 5 January 2019) was a British musician. He was best known as the original bass guitarist for the famous band The Hollies. He played with them from December 1962 until July 1966.

Eric Haydock was born in Stockport, England. He became a talented bass guitarist. In 1962, he joined a new band called The Hollies. This band became very popular in the 1960s. They were known for their catchy pop and rock songs.
As the bass player, Eric helped create the band's sound. He played on many of their early hit songs. These included "Stay," "Just One Look," and "I'm Alive." His bass lines were an important part of The Hollies' music.
Later Years
Eric Haydock left The Hollies in 1966. After leaving the band, he continued to be involved in music. He played in other groups and worked on different projects.
Eric Haydock passed away on 5 January 2019. He was 75 years old. He is remembered for his important role in the early success of The Hollies.
