Erika Jucá Kokay (born August 15, 1957) is a Brazilian politician. She was born in Ceará, a state in Brazil. However, she has spent her political career working for the Federal District. She has been a representative for this area since 2011.

Early Life and Work
Erika Kokay was born to Lojos Ferenz Kokay and Maria do Perpétuo Socorro Jucá. Before she became a politician, she worked as a banker. This means she worked in a bank, helping people with their money.
Since 1992, Kokay has also been a syndicalist. This means she works with trade unions. Trade unions are groups that protect the rights of workers. She is a member and a past president of a large trade union called Central Única dos Trabalhadores.

Erika Kokay has been involved in many important political decisions in Brazil. She often votes on laws that affect many people.
Important Votes
Kokay voted against removing former President Dilma Rousseff from office. This process is called impeachment. She also voted against a new law in 2017 that changed rules for workers in Brazil. This law was called the Brazilian labor reform. Later, she voted to support an investigation into the next president, Michel Temer. This investigation was about possible corruption.
Supporting Human Rights
