Ermilo Abreu Gómez (born September 18, 1894, in Mérida, Yucatán, and died July 14, 1971, in Mexico City) was a famous writer, journalist, and lecturer from México. He was a very important person in Mexican literature.

Ermilo Abreu Gómez was also a member of the Mexican Academy of Language starting in 1963. This is a group of experts who protect and study the Spanish language in Mexico. He also taught at many universities in the United States, sharing his knowledge with students there.
