Ernestine von Fürth, born Ernestine Kisch (October 5, 1877 – October 31, 1946), was an important Austrian activist. She worked hard for women's rights, especially for women to have the right to vote. She was a key leader in the women's suffrage movement in Austria.

Ernestine married Emil von Fürth, who was a lawyer. He was also involved in politics. In 1905, Ernestine and Emil changed their religion.

Fighting for Women's Rights

Ernestine von Fürth became a very important voice for women's rights. In 1906, she helped start the Austrian women's suffrage committee. Suffrage means the right to vote. At that time, women in Austria could not vote.

It was not easy to create a group for women's voting rights. The law made it difficult for women to join official organizations. But Ernestine von Fürth kept working.

In March 1912, she helped organize the first big meeting in Vienna about women's voting rights. This meeting aimed to bring together all the different groups that supported women's suffrage in Austria.

Editor and Leader
