Escape of the Artful Dodger is an exciting Australian children's television series that first aired in 2001. It tells the story of Jack Dawkins, also known as the Artful Dodger, a clever young character from the famous book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens.
In the original story, the Artful Dodger was a quick-witted pickpocket in London. But in this TV show, he gets a chance to change his life. His journey to Australia gives him the perfect opportunity to leave his old life as a crook behind and become a true hero.
What's the Story About?
The adventure begins when Dodger and another character, Will Grady, are sent to Australia. At the same time, Oliver Twist and Hannah Schuller are also traveling there to meet Hannah's brother, Michael.
As Dodger and his new friends make their way, they face many challenges. Their biggest problem is a mean and unfair officer named Sergeant Bates. He tries to make their lives difficult. The series follows Dodger as he tries to escape his past and prove he can be a good person, even with obstacles in his way.
