Estación Rincón, or simply Rincón, is a small village located in the Treinta y Tres Department of Uruguay. It's a quiet place that plays an important role in the country's rice farming!

Geography of Estación Rincón

The main part of Estación Rincón is found between a road called Ruta 18 and the local train tracks. The village actually gets its name from the train station located there. A smaller section of the village is just southeast of these tracks.

Estación Rincón is a key town in an area known as Costas del Tacuarí. This region is one of the most important places in Uruguay for growing rice. The closest town to Rincón is Vergara, which is about 17 kilometers (about 10.5 miles) to the southwest.

History of Estación Rincón

Estación Rincón officially became a "Pueblo" (which means "village" in Spanish) on December 9, 1985. This new status was given to it by a special law, called Ley Nº 15.788.
