Estanzuela is a small town in Guatemala, located in the Zacapa Department. It's known as a municipality, which is like a local government area.

Long ago, when Spaniards were exploring Guatemala, they were looking for a way to reach the ocean farther west. They found Estanzuela to be a perfect spot to rest. They noticed the land was good for farming, so many decided to stay. At first, they called the place "La Estancia," which means "the resting place." Later, it was called "La Estanzuelita," a smaller version of "La Estancia." Over time, the name changed to what it is today: Estanzuela.

Estanzuela has about 11,140 people living there. The town covers an area of 92.4 square kilometers. This means about 120 people live in each square kilometer.

Estanzuela's Weather

The weather in Estanzuela is usually warm and dry. It can get very hot! The highest temperature ever recorded in Guatemala was here, reaching 45.0 °C (113.0 °F). The lowest temperature ever recorded was 7.0 °C (44.6 °F).

Estanzuela doesn't get a lot of rain, with about 652.3 millimetres (25.68 in) falling each year. The air usually has an average humidity of 70%.
