Estelle Balet (born December 19, 1994 – died April 19, 2016) was an amazing Swiss freeride snowboarder. She became a two-time world champion in 2015 and 2016. She won these titles at the Freeride World Tour, which is a competition for riding down mountains on natural, ungroomed snow.
Early Life and Snowboarding
Estelle started skiing when she was very young. When she was ten years old, she switched from skiing to snowboarding. She became very good at different snowboarding tricks. These included riding in a switch stance, which means riding backward. She also mastered tricks like frontside 180 and frontside 360 spins.
Becoming a World Champion

Tragic Accident
On April 19, 2016, Estelle Balet sadly passed away. She was snowboarding in Orsières, Switzerland, while filming for a movie called Exploring the Known. An avalanche occurred during her ride. Emergency services quickly arrived, but she died from her injuries.
