Who Is Esther Acebo?
Esther Acebo was born in Madrid, Spain. Before becoming a well-known actress, she studied physical activity and sport sciences at the University of Castilla–La Mancha. This shows she had interests beyond acting early on!
Her Early Career in Television
Esther's first job in television was as a host for a children's TV show called Kosmi Club. After that, she worked as a reporter and presenter for a youth channel named Non Stop People. This channel was available on the Movistar+ platform. These early roles helped her gain experience in front of the camera.
Acting Debut and Rise to Fame
Esther Acebo made her first appearance on national television in a show called Ángel o Demonio. She also started acting in movies, with her first film being Los Encantados (which means The Enchanted Ones). This movie was released online in 2016.
She also acted in a short film called Baraka. This short film was special because it was the only Spanish-language short film chosen for the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016, which is a big deal in the film world!
Becoming a Star in Money Heist
On May 2, 2017, the TV series Money Heist (also known as La Casa de Papel) first aired. In this show, Esther Acebo played the character Mónica Gaztambide, who later became known as Stockholm. Her role in Money Heist helped her become famous all over the world.
