Her Work as a Professor and Researcher

Since 2006, Estrella Durá has worked as a researcher. She is part of the Polibienestar Research Institute at the University of Valencia. In 2017, she became a full professor at the same university. She teaches in the Department of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatments.

She has also worked with universities and research centers in other countries. These include the USA, UK, Austria, and the Netherlands. Her many scientific writings have been recognized four times for their quality.

How Estrella Became an MEP

In the 2019 European Parliament election, Estrella Durá was on the list for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party. She was number 21 on their list. Her party won 20 seats, so she was not initially elected.

However, the person who was first on her party's list, Josep Borrell, decided not to take his seat. He chose to continue as Spain's Foreign Minister instead. Because of this, Estrella Durá became a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in July 2019.

What Estrella Does as an MEP

As an MEP, Estrella Durá is part of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats political group. She represents the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party from Spain.

She is a member of the European Parliament Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL). This committee works on issues related to jobs and social well-being. She is also a substitute member of the European Parliament Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI). This committee deals with farming and rural areas.
