Eszter Tamási (born April 20, 1938 – died December 16, 1991) was a famous Hungarian actress and a very popular TV announcer. She was one of the first people to appear on Hungarian television.

Early Life and Big Dreams
Eszter grew up in a family that didn't have much money. In 1955, when she was 17, she moved to Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. She studied acting at a special school run by Kálmán Rózsahegyi. After her studies, she worked as an extra in movies, playing small background roles.
Becoming a TV Announcer
One day, based on a photograph, Eszter was asked to join Hungarian Television as an announcer. This was a big opportunity! On July 11, 1957, Eszter appeared on TV for the very first time. She quickly became a well-known face.
Her Popular TV Shows
Eszter was a talented announcer and presenter. She hosted many different shows, including the news program Híradó. She also presented the Dance and Song Festival and the Kodály singing competition, sometimes sharing the role with Júlia Kudlik. She even worked on School Television, which helped students learn.
In 1971, a popular wish show called Önök kérútt began. Eszter was the host of this show for many years, until 1990. Later, she also worked as a reporter. Eszter was very versatile; she entertained audiences in New Year's Eve shows and even told stories on sound recordings. Her daughter, Krisztina, was born in 1965.
Eszter passed away at the age of 53 due to a brain tumor. When she died, the TV news program Híradó honored her with a special video.

Eszter Tamási worked for Magyar Televízió (Hungarian Television) from 1957 until 1991. She was one of the very first television personalities in Hungary's history. People loved watching her, and she became a very popular figure across the country.
