Ethan Vernon (born 26 August 2000) is a talented British road and track cyclist. He rides for a professional team called Israel–Premier Tech. Ethan is known for his speed, especially in sprint finishes.

Ethan Vernon's Cycling Journey
Ethan Vernon started his cycling journey riding BMX bikes until he was 14 years old. After that, he decided to focus on road and track cycling. This change led to many successes!
Early Achievements and Junior Success
In 2017 and 2018, Ethan won five national junior track titles in the UK. He also earned a silver medal at the 2018 UCI World Junior Championships in the individual pursuit event. He even represented Wales at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where his team finished fourth in the team pursuit.
Ethan also competed for Great Britain in the team pursuit at the 2018–19 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in London, where his team finished third. In 2020, he achieved his first major medal at the senior level, winning a silver in the kilometer time trial at the European Championships.
Olympic Dreams and World Medals
In 2021, Ethan was chosen to be part of the team pursuit squad for the 2020 Summer Olympics (which took place in 2021 due to delays). His team finished 8th. That same year, the team also won a bronze medal at the UCI World Championships.
Ethan also started to make a name for himself in road cycling. In 2021, he won his first big road race stage at the Tour de l'Avenir. This was a sprint finish, showing his speed on the road. A month later, he placed seventh in the World Under-23 Time Trial Championships.
Turning Professional and Big Wins
In 2022, Ethan joined a professional team called Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team. This was a big step in his career. In March 2022, he won his first professional race stage at the Volta a Catalunya. Later that year, he won two stages back-to-back at the Okolo Slovenska.
The year 2023 was also very successful for Ethan. He won the Trofeo Palma in January. In February, he won two stages of the Tour du Rwanda. Then, in April, he won a stage at the Tour de Romandie.
In August 2023, Ethan returned to the track and won his first senior World Championships title in the elimination race. This was a huge achievement! A few weeks later, he went back to road racing and won the prologue (a short opening time trial) of the Deutschland Tour.
Ethan signed a new contract with the Israel–Premier Tech team, starting in 2024. In February 2024, he won the first race of the year for his new team at the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes. In May 2024, he competed in his first ever Grand Tour, the Giro d'Italia, which is one of the biggest road cycling races in the world.
Recent Achievements
Ethan continued to show his strength in 2024. He won the team pursuit at the European Championships. He also earned a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the team pursuit, which was a fantastic result for Great Britain.
In 2025, Ethan won another stage at the Volta a Catalunya. He also placed third in the British National Road Race Championships and fourth in the Time Trial Championships.
