In 1880, Ethel married James Penrose. He worked as a land agent. Their wedding took place in Skibbereen. After they married, Ethel and James moved to Lismore, a town in County Waterford, where they lived for several years. They had at least four children together. Ethel Penrose passed away on June 1, 1938.
