The Euclid View Flats is a special apartment building in Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was built a long time ago, between 1894 and 1895. This building is important because it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized as a significant historical place in the United States.
Euclid View Flats was one of the first fancy apartment buildings made for middle-class families. Before the 1890s, most apartment buildings were called tenements. These were often crowded and built for people with less money. Euclid View Flats offered a new, nicer option for families who didn't want to live in a single house. It was a big change for housing in Saint Paul, especially in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood.

A Look at Its Unique Style
The building's design shows a cool change in architecture from that time. It mixes two styles: the Queen Anne style and the Romanesque Revival style.
Queen Anne Style
The Queen Anne style was very popular in the late 1800s. Buildings in this style often have lots of fancy decorations. Think of towers, turrets, patterned bricks, and different textures. They look very detailed and sometimes a bit playful.
Romanesque Revival Style
The Romanesque Revival style came a bit later and was more simple. It used strong, heavy stone or brick. It often had round arches over windows and doors, and looked more solid and grand. The Euclid View Flats shows how architects started to move from the highly decorated Queen Anne look to the more serious Romanesque Revival style.
Bringing the Building Back to Life
For a while, the Euclid View Flats building was in bad shape. It had some damage and was empty starting in 2010. But now, it's being fixed up! This process is called rehabilitation.
The plan is to make all 12 apartments available as affordable housing. This means the rent will be set so that people with lower incomes can afford to live there. It's a way to help make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable place to live.
