Eva Maria Düringer Cavalli, born on October 9, 1959, is an Austrian fashion designer. She is also known for winning several beauty pageants. These include Miss Austria in 1977 and Miss Europe in 1978. Eva Cavalli also used to be a co-creative director for the Cavalli fashion brands.
Early Life and Pageant Wins
Eva Maria Düringer was born near Lake Constance, in Bodensee, Austria. Her parents are Frieda Koenig and Anton Düringer.
When she was 17 years old, Eva won the title of Miss Austria. She was the youngest person ever to win this crown. After that, she competed in the Miss Universe pageant in 1977. She placed as the first runner-up, which means she came in second place. This was the highest placement for her country in the Miss Universe contest at that time.
She also took part in the Miss World pageant in 1977. There, she reached the semi-finals. In 1977, she competed in the Miss Europe pageant and was crowned the winner.
Fashion Career and Family
In 1980, Eva married Roberto Cavalli. He was an Italian leather designer and had been a judge at the Miss Universe pageant. The couple had three children together. They lived in Florence, Italy, for many years. Eva and Roberto Cavalli later divorced in 2010.
Eva Cavalli played a big role in the fashion world. She worked as a co-creative director for the Cavalli brands. This means she helped design and guide the look of the fashion collections.
