It has parts of Evans Creek, along with other water areas, wetlands, and open meadows. You'll also find some steep hills here.

This preserve is a home for many different animals. You might spot black bears, beavers, hawks, deer, and many kinds of songbirds. It's a great place to see wildlife!

Discover Evans Creek Preserve

Evans Creek Preserve is a large natural space. It helps protect the environment and provides a place for people to enjoy the outdoors. The preserve is a mix of different landscapes. You can find wetlands, which are like marshy areas, and open fields called meadows. There are also parts of Evans Creek flowing through the preserve.

What You'll Find There

One cool thing you can see at Evans Creek Preserve are "nurse trees." These are old tree stumps that help new trees grow. They provide important nutrients for the young trees. It's like the old trees are taking care of the new ones!

Exploring the Trails

The preserve has many trails for you to explore. In 2011, a parking lot with 10 spaces was built. Restrooms and some trails were also added. This was a team effort! The City of Sammamish worked with the Washington Trails Association, local businesses, and community groups.

More trails were built between 2013 and 2016. This means there are even more paths for you to hike and discover.

How to Visit Evans Creek Preserve

There are two main entrances, called trailheads, to the park. The older trailhead is located on 224th Ave NE. A newer trailhead can be found at 3650 Sahalee Way NE. Both offer access to the beautiful trails.
