Ewington, Ohio facts for kids
Ewington is a small, quiet place in Gallia County, Ohio. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it's a settlement that doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
A Look Back: The History of Ewington
Ewington was officially planned and laid out in 1852. A man named George Ewing was the one who created the plan for the community. He decided to name it after his father, William Ewing, who was also known as "Swago Bill."
Even before the community was officially planned, a post office was opened in Ewington in 1850. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years. It stayed open and served the community until 1984.
