Exco Levi's Musical Journey

Exco Levi was born in a place called Harmons in Manchester Parish, Jamaica. He started singing when he was young. His first singing experience was in his school choir. His father, Michael 'Mr Cool' Levy, also loved music. He worked with a "sound system" called Super Soul in Clarendon. A sound system is like a big mobile DJ setup with huge speakers.

In 2005, Exco Levi moved to Canada. He began his music recording career in 2007. His first song that year was called "O' Canada." His stage name, 'Exco,' comes from his favorite football player, Andrés Escobar.

Winning Juno Awards

A famous music producer named Donovan Germain met Exco Levi. This happened thanks to another musician, Richie Stephens. Exco Levi and Donovan Germain started working together. Their song "Bleaching Shop" was a big hit. It won the Juno Award for Reggae Recording of the Year in 2012.

Exco Levi kept winning! He won more Junos for his songs "Storms of Life" in 2013 and "Strive" in 2014. He also worked with music producers from Germany called Silly Walks.

In December 2014, he performed at a big music event called Sting. In January 2015, he was part of the Rebel Salute festival. In March 2015, he released his second album, Country Man. He won his fourth Juno Award for his 2015 song "Welcome the King."

Life in Brampton and New Music

By 2016, Exco Levi was living in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. He even had his own music studio there. He also still spent time working on music in Jamaica. That same year, he was honored by being added to the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame. This means his artistic achievements are recognized in his community.

In 2017, Exco Levi won his fifth Juno Award. This time it was for his reggae song "Siren." In November 2017, he released his third album, Narrative. This album featured other artists like Raging Fyah and Sizzla.

Exco Levi continued to be nominated for Juno Awards. In 2019, his Narrative album, produced by Silly Walks from Germany, earned him his seventh nomination. In 2020, his song "Wah Gwaan" got him his eighth Juno nomination. Most recently, in 2022, Exco Levi received his ninth Juno Award nomination for the song "By Any Means."
