The FC HOCO Südburgenland is a women's soccer team from the Austrian province of Burgenland. The club started in 2002. They play in the ÖFB-Frauenliga, which is the top women's soccer league in Austria.

History of the Club

The FC HOCO Südburgenland club began in 2002. Before that, the women's team was part of SC Pinkafeld. They decided to form their own independent soccer club.

In their very first year, they won the 2nd division league. This win meant they moved up to the ÖFB-Frauenliga. This is the highest league for women's soccer in Austria. In their first year in the top league, they finished in 4th place.

For a few years after that, they were usually in the lower half of the league table. But in 2009, they had a big win. They beat SV Neulengbach 1-0. SV Neulengbach was a very strong team.

Since the 2004/05 season, the club has had a second team. This second team currently plays in the 2. Frauen Liga Ost.

Cup Competitions

The team has also done well in cup competitions. In 2004, they reached the final of the ÖFB-Frauencup. They lost to SV Neulengbach with a score of 0:12.

In 2009 and 2011, the club made it to the semifinals of the cup. Both times, they were beaten by SV Neulengbach.

  • 2. Division Ost: They were champions (first place) once in the 2002/03 season.
