FNTI, also known as the First Nations Technical Institute, is a special school for higher education. It is owned and run by Indigenous people. This school is located in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in Ontario, Canada. FNTI teaches using Indigenous ways of learning and knowing.
FNTI is a non-profit organization. This means it uses its money to help students, not to make a profit. It is recognized by important education groups. These include the World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium (WINHEC) and Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan).
By July 2020, over 4,000 students had graduated from FNTI. They earned certificates, diplomas, and degrees. These were given out with help from other colleges and universities in Ontario. In 2020, FNTI started offering its own bachelor's degrees. This was made possible by a law called the Indigenous Institutes Act, 2017. FNTI has a very high success rate. In July 2020, 93% of its students graduated. Also, 98% of its graduates found jobs.

History of FNTI
A long time ago, in 1917, a place called Camp Mohawk was built in Tyendinaga. It was used to train pilots. In 1985, FNTI was officially started. Its goal was to create learning paths for Indigenous Peoples.
In 1989, FNTI began its First Peoples’ Aviation Technology – Flight program. This program trains First Nations, Métis, and Inuit pilots. They learn to fly at the former Camp Mohawk site.
