Fabiola Andrea Yáñez was born on July 14, 1981. She is an Argentine journalist and actress. She was also the First Lady of Argentina from 2019 to 2023.
Early Life and Education
Fabiola Andrea Yáñez was born in Villa Regina, Río Negro Province, Argentina. She grew up in Alem, Misiones Province. Her family moved to Misiones when she was a teenager. She finished high school in Posadas.
She studied journalism at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires. For her final university project, she wrote about how Néstor Kirchner and the newspaper Clarín talked about each other. While doing research for this project, she met Alberto Fernández. He was a top government official at the time.
Her Career in Media
Fabiola Yáñez started her media career when she was 17. She co-hosted a children's TV show in Rosario. She also acted in small plays there. She continued to host shows until 2004.
After finishing university, Yáñez worked for many news groups. These included Infobae, Página/12, América TV, C5N, and CNN+. She also worked for Spain's La Razón newspaper. In 2018, she started co-hosting a TV talk show called Incorrectas. She also acted in a play called ¡Otra vez papá! Después de los 50.
Becoming First Lady

On December 10, 2019, her partner, Alberto Fernández, became the President of Argentina. Fabiola Yáñez then became the First Lady of Argentina. She said she wanted to use her position to help with social work. She especially wanted to help Argentine children and families.
From January to February 2020, Yáñez traveled with President Fernández on his first trip as president. They visited Jerusalem, Israel, where they met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife. They also visited Berlin and Paris. In Paris, she met with leaders from UNESCO. She learned about their programs for education, inclusion, and helping children.
In March 2020, Yáñez helped open the Argentine Women's Bicentennial Hall again. This was at the Casa Rosada, the president's office. Later, in April 2020, Yáñez organized a TV event called Unidos por Argentina. This event raised money for the Argentine Red Cross. The money helped in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The event lasted seven hours and raised over US$500,000.
Personal Life
Fabiola Yáñez was in a relationship with Alberto Fernández from 2014 to 2024. While he was president, they lived in the Quinta de Olivos. Before that, they lived in an apartment in Buenos Aires. They have four dogs: Dylan, Prócer, Keila, and Blue.
On September 23, 2021, it was announced that Yáñez was expecting her first child. Their son, Francisco Fernández Yáñez, was born on April 11, 2022, in Buenos Aires. As of August 2024, Fabiola and Francisco Yáñez live in Spain.
