Río Negro is a large province in Argentina. It is located in the northern part of Patagonia, a famous region known for its natural beauty. The first European explorer to visit the coasts of what is now Río Negro was Ferdinand Magellan. He sailed along the coast in 1520. This marked the beginning of European contact with the area.
