Pablo Federico Verani (born February 7, 1938 – died September 25, 2013) was an important politician from Argentina. He was born in Italy. He served as the Governor of Río Negro Province from 1995 to 2003. He was a member of the Radical Civic Union political party.

Early Life and Education
Pablo Verani was born in 1938 in a part of Italy called the Province of Reggio Emilia. His family were farmers and had a good life. His father was also involved in local politics.
During World War II, his father joined the Italian resistance. This group fought against the invading forces. The family was separated until the region was freed in 1945.
In 1947, Pablo's family moved from Italy to Argentina. They settled in Allen, Río Negro, which was a farming town in the Patagonia region.
Pablo Verani did well in Argentina. He went to the University of Buenos Aires and became a lawyer in 1964. After finishing his studies, he went back to Río Negro. He took over his family's fruit farms, which were called orchards.
He also bought a local football team, Deportivo Roca. This team played in a lower league. However, this business did not go well, so he focused on farming again.
Political Career and Public Service
Pablo Verani became well-known because he owned the football club. This helped him start his career in politics.
Serving as Mayor and Vice Governor
In 1983, he was elected as the Mayor of General Roca. This is the biggest city in the province.
Later, in 1987, he joined Horacio Massaccesi to run for governor. Pablo Verani became the Vice Governor of Río Negro. He served in this role until 1991.
After that, he was elected to the Legislature of Río Negro. This is like the provincial parliament. He led his party's group there.
Governor of Río Negro
In 1995, Pablo Verani was elected as the Governor of Río Negro Province. He was re-elected in 1999, serving two terms until 2003.
As governor, he focused on improving the province. He invested a lot of money in:
- Building new roads.
- Creating systems to bring water to farms (irrigation).
- Bringing electricity to rural areas.
- Helping farmers who grew apples and pears sell their products.
After his time as governor ended in 2003, Verani continued to serve the province. He worked as a minister for planning and development.
National Senator
Pablo Verani was also chosen to lead the provincial branch of his political party, the Radical Civic Union. He was a key figure among some members of his party who supported the ruling political group at the time.
In 2007, Verani was elected as a Senator for Río Negro Province. He represented his province in the Argentine Senate. He also led the Committee on Science and Technology.
Pablo Verani passed away on September 25, 2013.
