History of Fairview Alpha
Fairview Alpha got its current name in 1912. Before that, the area was known as Messick. This name came from a family who owned a store there.
The name "Fairview Alpha" was chosen when two local schools joined together. These were the Alpha School, located in Natchitoches Parish, and the Fairview School, which was in Red River Parish. When they combined, the new name for the community came into use.
