School History: How Falmouth Academy Started
Falmouth Academy began in 1977. It started as a small school focused on strong academics. The very first classes were held in the basement of a retirement home.
Two years later, in 1979, the school moved. It went to a different rented building in Bourne, Massachusetts. In 1985, Josiah K. Lilly III gave Falmouth Academy 34 acres of land. This land was close to the town center.
In 1989, the school moved into its new building. This building had 16 classrooms. Since then, the school has added many new parts.
Building Upgrades and New Spaces
In 1997, a gymnasium was added. This helped with sports and physical education classes. A large, three-story addition was built in 2006. It included new science labs and art rooms. It also had offices, a student resource room, and a library. The library was named after Bruce Buxton, a long-serving headmaster.
In 2014 and 2015, Morse Hall was built. This hall is a large meeting space. It is used for school meetings and community events. In July 2017, the Simon Center for the Arts opened. This center has a modern theater and a music room. It also includes spaces for set design and art displays. In July 2022, the school added a room for its history records and an IT room.
David Perry became the head of Falmouth Academy in 2024.

Team Achievements
The girls' basketball team won league championships. They won in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. The girls' lacrosse team also won league championships in those same years. The boys' lacrosse team won the league championship in 2021.
