Farmers is a small place in Ohio, a state in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Farmers is located in Clinton County.

How Farmers Began

The area known as Farmers got its start a long time ago, especially when the railroad was built through it. People started calling it "Farmers Station" because it was a stop along the train tracks. Even though people lived and worked there, the area was never officially planned out or "platted" like a new town often is. This means there were no official maps showing specific streets and lots for buildings.

The Old Post Office

A post office was opened in Farmers Station in 1859. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years, helping people stay connected. However, it eventually closed down in 1910.
