Farmersville, Missouri facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Farmersville is a small, quiet place in Livingston County, Missouri, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

History of Farmersville

Farmersville was first planned and settled in 1870. It got its name because it was located in an area perfect for farming. People who lived there were mostly farmers, growing crops and raising animals.

Before the community was officially laid out, a post office was opened in Farmersville in 1867. A post office was very important back then because it was how people sent and received letters, packages, and news. It helped connect the community to the rest of the world. The Farmersville post office served the area for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1901.
